Main past activ­i­ties
Gildas Ros­tain found­ed the Paris office of Clyde & Co in the ear­ly 1990s, after hav­ing head­ed the lit­i­ga­tion man­age­ment struc­ture for trans­port insur­ers on the French mar­ket.

He has rec­og­nized expe­ri­ence in man­ag­ing major claims, with a per­fect under­stand­ing of legal exper­tise and the indus­tri­al envi­ron­ment. As such, he has been involved in the Eri­ka, Pres­tige and Esto­nia mar­itime dis­as­ters, as well as in lit­i­ga­tion fol­low­ing numer­ous indus­tri­al cat­a­stro­phes (AZF, explo­sion at the Fos-sur-Mer petro­chem­i­cal plant, fire in the Chan­nel tun­nel).

He has a strong rep­u­ta­tion in trans­port lit­i­ga­tion (mar­itime, land and rail), act­ing for insur­ance com­pa­nies, shipown­ers and major indus­tri­al firms.

He has advised on some thir­ty inter­nal and inter­na­tion­al arbi­tra­tion cas­es (ICC, AFA, CAMP) and also acts as arbi­tra­tor, notably in insur­ance and rein­sur­ance. His exper­tise in insur­ance issues also leads to reg­u­lar con­sul­ta­tions on the mobi­liza­tion of insur­ance pro­grams.
