Gildas Rostain founded the Paris office of Clyde & Co in the early 1990s, after having headed the litigation management structure for transport insurers on the French market.
He has recognized experience in managing major claims, with a perfect understanding of legal expertise and the industrial environment. As such, he has been involved in the Erika, Prestige and Estonia maritime disasters, as well as in litigation following numerous industrial catastrophes (AZF, explosion at the Fos-sur-Mer petrochemical plant, fire in the Channel tunnel).
He has a strong reputation in transport litigation (maritime, land and rail), acting for insurance companies, shipowners and major industrial firms.
He has advised on some thirty internal and international arbitration cases (ICC, AFA, CAMP) and also acts as arbitrator, notably in insurance and reinsurance. His expertise in insurance issues also leads to regular consultations on the mobilization of insurance programs.
