Main past activ­i­ties : Gildas Ros­tain found­ed the Paris office of Clyde & Co in the ear­ly 1990s, after hav­ing head­ed the lit­i­ga­tion man­age­ment struc­ture for trans­port insur­ers on the French mar­ket.
Gildas has rec­og­nized expe­ri­ence in han­dling major claims, where his per­fect knowl­edge of legal exper­tise and the indus­tri­al envi­ron­ment is high­ly appre­ci­at­ed. He was involved in the Eri­ka, Pres­tige and Esto­nia mar­itime dis­as­ters, and in the lit­i­ga­tion that fol­lowed numer­ous indus­tri­al dis­as­ters, includ­ing the AZF dis­as­ter, the explo­sion at the Fos sur Mer petro­chem­i­cal plant and the fire in the Chan­nel Tun­nel.
Gildas has a strong rep­u­ta­tion in trans­port, mar­itime, land and rail lit­i­ga­tion, where he acts for insur­ance com­pa­nies, shipown­ers and major indus­tri­al com­pa­nies alike.
Gildas has act­ed as coun­sel in some thir­ty domes­tic and inter­na­tion­al arbi­tra­tions (ICC, AFA, CAMP). Gildas Ros­tain also acts as arbi­tra­tor in var­i­ous cas­es, notably in the insur­ance and rein­sur­ance sec­tors.
Gildas’ rep­u­ta­tion and exper­tise in insur­ance issues mean that he is reg­u­lar­ly con­sult­ed on the mobi­liza­tion of insur­ance pro­grams.
